Top Help Centers of 2025

Annnnndddd ... we are back ... I think, at least for the time being 😬

Before the release of the third instalment of Top Ten Help Centers of 2025 (it's Zapier, FYI), let's recap what we have learned from the last two.

Is it nerdy to create a bullet point list of action items to help make your help center better from looking at other help centers? Yes.

Am I going to do it anyway? Also, yes!

#1 Scribe

Scribe is a perfect example of why a simple style and brand make a fluid user experience. They don't throw in as many features as possible and focus on the quality of content.

πŸŽ“ What we can learn from them ...

  • Placing popular articles under the search bar allows customers to get content quickly. Not only that, you can add articles you pre-emptively think will be 'winners' for your users.
  • Adding CSS to a numbered list can make finding lists in a crowded article easier. Sometimes regular text numbered lists do get lost in your content.
  • On the CSS note again, add CSS to your written content when talking about plans, user groups, or products. This allows your users to skim quickly and find relevant information for their use case.

#2 Amazon

video preview

Even with incredible technical writers and development resources, sometimes help centers can get messy on the navigation front. Amazon shows us that all the pieces are there (i.e., talented technical writers, well-abled developmental resources, UX research, etc), but without a pure focus on connecting all the dots and creating a fluid user experience, the goal of the user can get a bit lost in the content.

πŸŽ“ What we can learn from them ...

  • Don't be afraid to pull inspiration from a company outside your industry. Think of how you can repurpose UI or even navigation flows to help your users.
  • DYNAMIC CONTENT IS KING πŸ‘‘ Utilize what you know about your user if they are logged in to serve customized content when it matters most. Make their lives easier.
  • Video documentation for the sake of video documentation doesn't improve the user experience. It may be tempting to utilize some of Marketing's dope content, but if it isn't supplying a solution, text is the better solution.
